In many countries, drink driving is a serious problem. According to research statistics, more than 40% of traffic accidents are alcohol related, and the economic cost to society is very high. Currently there is no effective way to prevent drink driving. Existing ignition locking devices involve major modifications to the car itself and require special installations. Penalties are imposed only after the occurrence of an accident. Very often, innocent lives are lost and more are injured.

i-KEY is the world's first working car key device for drink driving prevention. Without modification of the vehicle, it is a device independent of the construction of the vehicle. It can readily replace the original car key, and provide effective prevention of drink driving at only a fraction of the cost (of modifying a car).

i-KEY is remarkably simple to use. It integrates a breath analyzer to any car key and can function regardless of the age and model of the vehicle. The key has a protruding interlock that blocks entry to the ignition and retracts once a breath sample under the legal limit has been analysed.
